What to Expect at Your First Chiropractic Visit

Experiencing lower back pain, neck pain, headaches or sporting injuries, but not sure what happens during a chiropractic visit? At Back and Beyond Chiropractic in Concord, we understand that visiting a chiropractor for the first time can be uncertain. Here’s what you can expect during your initial consultation.

Your Story Comes First

Your first visit starts with us listening to you. We want to understand not only where you are experiencing discomfort, but also how it is affecting your everyday life, work, sleep, exercise and the things that matter to you.

Our chiropractors will take the time to discuss your current health concerns, relevant health history, previous injuries and any treatment you may have had before. This gives us a clearer understanding of your concerns and helps guide the next stage of your assessment.

Every person is different, so your consultation is shaped around you rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Tailored Chiropractic Assessment

Our chiropractors will thoroughly assess how your spine and body function to identify the cause of your health concerns. This may include

  • Postural Assessment

  • Range of Motion

  • Neurological & Orthopaedic tests

  • Chiropractic Examinations

  • Spinal and Joint Assessments

  • Muscle function tests

  • X-ray (where clinically indicated)

If you have previous X-rays, MRI or CT scans, medical reports or other relevant health information, you are welcome to bring them with you.

We Explain What We Find

Following your first visit, your chiropractor will review the information gathered from your consultation, examination and any relevant imaging results.

At your second visit, we’ll take the time to explain our findings and tailored treatment plan in clear, easy-to-understand language, discuss how they may relate to your concerns, and outline the next steps that may be appropriate for you.

You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions before deciding how you would like to proceed with care.
